Latitude of Gratitude

"And I realize that no matter where I am, whether in a little room full of thought, or in this endless
universe of stars and mountains, its all in my head." - Jack Kerouac

Me? What do I take for granted? Hmm... Well the sad truth is, a lot.

I have so many beautiful people around me. Those of whom would go to the ends of the earth in order to make sure I am ok. I have a beautiful, healthy, growing baby boy who has given me purpose. I have eyes that can read novels of fantasies and imagination, I have a tongue that can taste the fruit of the earth, I have ears that can listen to the thundering waves of the ocean, I have fingers that are tender to the touch. I am gifted beyond measure.

Open the door and let it in, the beauty of the         world filling the hollow within.

I take for granted the bricks built around me.

I take for granted the running water that bathes me.

I take for granted the beauty of a new day, no matter how grey.

I take for granted my prayers answered each and every day.

I take for granted my youth and beauty.

"The inner workings of your soul depends on your decisions. What you radiate becomes your energy." - unknown

   Sit in silence.
Look around.
Breathe in the air.

A plate of food to fill my aching stomach.
A phone with endless music right at my fingertips.

Listen.

A bed to lay my head
&
Pillows to cuddle

These little things I can't imagine a day without.

  1. Charlene,

Great post. This post is very professional. I like the little quips and lists that you created here. It's a cool way to spread text around and give the reader some visual cues, as certain phrases can be separated out of the paragraphs.

I also like the Kerouac quote - great week for it. Lowell was just celebrating his birthday. A few friends and I used to run the memorial 5k each year up there.

I really like the images you chose for this blog - esp the photo of the sun setting out of your window.

Lastly, great job of thinking about all the little things thad add up to your security, your daily support, and your life. I like that you broke it down to the bricks of the building. A great literal and symbolic example.

My only suggestion is to write just a little bit more. Go further. Go beyond the minimum length.
